Progress to a blue Florida
Every office that decides how Florida is governed, the seats Democrats hold today, and exactly how many more it takes.
How the bar works
For each body we count the seats Democrats hold, capped at the number needed for control: 61 of 120 in the Florida House, 21 of 40 in the Florida Senate, 15 of 28 Florida seats in the U.S. House, both U.S. Senate seats, the governor, and two of three Cabinet seats.
Add those up and divide by the total needed (102). Seats still being counted are shown in amber and are not counted for anyone yet.
The national picture
Democrats won control of the U.S. House and Senate on Nov 3, 2026.
Florida swung hard toward Democrats but not far enough to flip statewide offices. Republicans started with a registration lead of about 1.54 million voters and won the top races by less than 3 points.
